Choose Your WCAG Level and Scan PDF Links with Webwarden

Webwarden

Webwarden has taken another big step forward. We’ve released new features that make monitoring website quality, accessibility, and responsibility more accurate and flexible than ever.

Here’s a look at the most important updates.

Choose Your WCAG Accessibility Level

Accessibility requirements aren’t the same for every organization. That’s why Webwarden now lets you select your preferred WCAG level directly from the settings.

You can choose between:

  • WCAG 2.0 A / AA / AAA

  • WCAG 2.1 A / AA / AAA

  • WCAG 2.2 A / AA / AAA

This means that:

  • Public sector organizations can focus directly on WCAG 2.1 AA requirements

  • Leading organizations can aim for WCAG 2.2 compliance

  • Development teams can test accessibility levels step by step

Webwarden filters findings according to the selected standard. You’ll only see issues that are relevant to your chosen level, making reports clearer and prioritization easier.

PDF Accessibility Scanning Included

One of the most common accessibility challenges lies in PDF documents. Until now, there haven’t been many easy-to-use or affordable tools for scanning PDF accessibility from website links.

Previously, a website’s HTML content could be fully compliant while a linked PDF failed accessibility requirements.

Now Webwarden:

  • Detects PDF links on your site

  • Scans the PDF documents

  • Checks for accessibility issues

This is especially important for:

  • Public sector organizations

  • Companies with many reports and attachments

  • Websites where instructions or forms are published as PDFs

Webwarden also checks whether PDF links use unsecured HTTP connections, which can harm both security and search visibility.
